We Need Your Help to Give, Act, and Pray! 45,000 Meals to be Packed by RB Community on March 16th.

GIVE: Each meal costs $.25 for the rice, lentil beans, dehydrated vegetables, and protein packet. Each bag contains six servings. The cost of 45,000 meals is $11,250. Although the Missions Committee has “fronted” the funds for this event we are asking for donations to help defray the expense so we can continue to do other outreach projects. ACT: We need 120 volunteers to help pack the meals. Our goal is to be done within 2-hours (10:00-12:00). You can register online or in the courtyard on Sundays after church. We hope to see you there. PRAY: We ask your prayers for our congregation coming together to make this a successful event. Pray for the children and families who will be receiving these meals. Pray for Baja Presbyterian Ministries as they take 104 boxes (11,232 meals) to 34 Presbyterian churches in Baja who will be distributing the food bags to refugees and families living in Baja. Pray for Kids Around the World the non-profit we are partnering with to distribute the remaining meals to villages in third world countries. Our church mission efforts had a large presence during the month of February. We collected and delivered carloads of warm outerwear to New Day Urban Ministries, San Diego Rescue Mission, Interfaith Community Services, and the Alpha Project. Thank you to Carpenter’s Fellowship for sponsoring Souper Bowl during which over 3000 cans of food were collected and split between New Day Urban Ministries and Interfaith Community Services as well as nearly $2,000 for New Day. Two hundred sack lunches were delivered to Interfaith by our friends at Silvergate. Are you interested in packing sack lunches? The Missions Committee is hoping to increase your awareness of our supported missions by visitation or video format. In February two of the leaders of the Mongolian Military Ministry were on campus as was Kelly Kosky, one of our long- supported missionaries representing Grace Children’s Center and Gatyana Bible College. Baja Presbyterian Missions will be at the food packing event, take a moment to ask about the church building they are doing in Baja. It takes a village, and our little village (RB Community) is making a difference in San Diego! PS: Don’t forget the grocery drive thru on Saturday, March 2nd for 4 Community Care food pantry serving families within the PUSD boundaries.
