Reflections For March 23

A hymn from last week’s service was about having a friend in Jesus – “He is everything to me. He walks with me and talks with me.” Jesus is our friend, and he is there for us. This is also true about the friends we have in this church. We make a difference in each other’s lives. We listen to each other and help each other through tough times. The scripture reading said, “Love each other as I have loved you.” Connecting with others is important. We can offer help and grow together in faith. One thing Geoff suggested was to reach out to a friend we hadn’t seen in a while. Envelopes with postage stamps and a blank piece of paper were handed out for us to write a letter to a friend. As he talked about this, I thought about two friends who reached out to me recently. One friend emailed me, and another friend and I had a Zoom session. It was so amazing to reconnect and see where each person was at this point in their lives. It meant a lot to me that they took the step to catch up with me. The friend you reach out to will most likely feel the same way. I looked up the definition of friendship. Friendship is a state of mutual trust and support between others and a relationship of mutual affection between people. It is a stronger form of interpersonal bond than an acquaintance. Relationships are important so we can grow together with others and Jesus. Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
