Reflections for January 27

We are called to become new versions of ourselves through God’s grace and love. The first song had the words: “See the weary, see the hurting, see the lonely, see the lost. Be his hand and touch the needy. Let us care for all his people.” We need to take this next step to live into what God is asking us to do. God loves us unconditionally and wants us to love each other. On Sunday after the service, I was trying to talk to so many people that I was late attending Geoff’s class. I wanted to reach out and check in how others were doing. I met some new people recently and wanted to make sure I continued to connect with them. I didn’t want them to think it was a one-time thing.   There is hope since God’s love never ends. He makes beautiful things out of us. I see that God makes beautiful things in the people at this church who are doing so much every day to grow, impact others, and love those around us. We experience God together. Sometimes we question if we are doing the right thing, but in Geoff’s class he talked about choosing not to punish ourselves. Let go of the past and move forward. We can live as if we have significance like Jesus did for us. We need each other to get through each day. The last words in the Prayer for Thanksgiving said, “Help us to value our family in Christ and to see our need for one another.” Yes, we can do this and move forward with this love for God and others!
