Reflections For February 17

We come to God and God asks us what we want. We want to be with God. When we are in the presence of God, we are able to see with spiritual eyes. We can discern what is right and what needs help. We learn how to partner with God.  The trellis takes us to the presence of God. The sermon gave us some ideas about how we can fit God into our busy days. When we eat meals, we can do that in remembrance of Jesus like we do when we participate in communion. When we are taking a shower, we can think about being baptized and cleansed. When we use our GPS, we can think of God giving us directions in life. We can have daily routines with God knowing that he is there with us constantly. These are great ways to open the door to a deeper connection with God.  In the Prayer for Illumination, we asked for guidance to understand God’s teachings and awareness to make connections with him. We can seek God’s guidance for growth, and God will provide support for our spiritual journey. Each of us may have a different journey due to our skills, who we know, how we can grow and help others, etc. The trellis is a symbol of how we can grow closer to God based on who we are and how God is guiding us. May the Spirit create a trellis for each of us to grow closer to God!  Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
