Reflections for November 25

During the service, Liz told us about choosing a paper tree leaf in the Narthex after the service and writing on it what we are thankful for. There is a display of a tree, and we can attach our leaves to the tree. I went back on Monday to see all of the things people are thankful for. People wrote about love, family, peace, ministries, care and support received from others, understanding, and the time we get to spend together. This ties in with the sermon when Geoff said we want everyone to know they are included and loved, and it has nothing to do with their prejudices. We treasure the work of God. The Thanksgiving Prayer said, “We take joy that we learn, we grow, we discover, and we explore.” In this church family, we do keep growing together and exploring the next steps. What will I do next? How can I make a difference? How can we let in God’s heavenly light? We can seek guidance through the Holy Spirit. I hope everyone had a little break this week and enjoyed some time with family and/or friends. I want to appreciate our staff and volunteers for all they do for this church family. We treasure your work, and we are thankful for all you give to members of this family. Thank you to those who gave me feedback about last week's column written by Artificial Intelligence. We had some interesting discussions. (I wrote this week's column.) Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
