Introducing Our leaders Apr 17

A few weeks ago you were introduced to a new group of Elders and Deacons as they were installed into their leadership responsibilities for our church. Each leader commits to a three-year term and can serve two consecutive terms. In the coming weeks, we would like you to meet our new leaders. Joyce Floyd Joyce Floyd lives in Poway and joined RB Community approximately 5 years ago. She attended the Saturday night worship service regularly and felt apart of that church family. Joyce decided to become a Deacon so that she could actively be in service to the church and to the Lord. Currently she is the Co-Chair of the Calls and Caring Committee and also enjoys participation in life groups. Ellen Fowler Ellen Fowler and her late husband, Richard, joined RBCPC in 2013. Ellen is a member of the prayer team to include the Wednesday Morning Women’s Prayer Group. She serves as a scripture reader and is part of Mornings with the Master worship services held during Holy Week. Ellen is a member of the Chancel Choir. Her background as a case manager/medical social services in rehabilitation hospitals and as a private geriatric care manager has equipped her to be of service as a Deacon with a focus on personal visits to members at home or in medical settings. Marianne Bohley Marianne grew up in Gardena which is 15 miles south of Los Angeles. She has a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis, respectively. She worked for the alphabet soup of defense contractors including Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Marianne has been married to Eric for 31 years. After the birth of her first son, she became a stay-at-home mother. Marianne has been a member of RB Community Church for 26 years. Her two boys participated in the church youth programs from preschool to high school. Marianne lives in Escondido. She walks her two white labradors on the San Dieguito River trail by Mule Hill and at Kit Carson Park several times a week. Marianne has volunteered as a KidsLife teacher for the elementary schoolers and prayer team member for the high schoolers. She now volunteers with the middle schoolers on Wednesday nights. Marianne’s first term as deacon was during Covid. She signed up for a second term to get the full experience of helping members of the congregation and community.
